Funseekers Australia Pty Ltd is a multi-activity, adventure and social club specifically designed for independent and free-spirited individuals and couples that have a common desire to try new activities, meet new people and live life to the full. Essentially, it provides an online service that helps registered members meet like-minded friends, try new activities and discover new adventures by providing a ‘one-stop’ site that facilitates the meet and greet process.
This works in three distinct ways:

1. We use geographical, demographic and psychographic profiling to connect you with commercial groups and events that perfectly match your interests,

2. We provide an online social club that allows members to organise events and groups themselves by providing them with unlimited access to online forums and chat rooms and enabling them to join groups, post events, send and accept invitations, etc., and

2. In certain cities, funseekers has an offline multi-activity, adventure and social club that offers members a diverse monthly calendar of fun and innovative events. Each of these events is professional, entertaining and affordable, and all are tailored to meet our members’ varied preferences.

Our members are a varied bunch with diverse backgrounds and careers, from year ten leavers to PHD honour students, single mums to corporate professionals, adrenaline junkies to bookworms. Many are looking to spice up their lives by trying a new activity or fulfilling a dream. Some are new to town and want to take advantage of all there is to do. Others have friends who are married with children, or have moved away. Some want to discover (or rediscover) their creative/ intrepid/ cultural/ sporty side. Others want a fun alternative to routine Friday night drinks and ‘ho-hum’ weekends. And most have neither the time nor the avenues to meet like-minded people, let alone to organise a full and varied social life.

Funseekers is open to anyone over 25 years old. In fact, we recently had an 86-year old grandmother accomplish her first sky dive while her 36-year old son chose the relatively softer option of a joy flight (with the twin engine Cessna he was in becoming the perfect spectator post for him to nervously look on). However, most of our members range between the ages of 25 and 55 with the median age being about 35.

No way. Funseekers is not a matchmaking service, at least not in the traditional sense. Rather than matching individuals for the specific purpose of romance, we match individuals, couples and groups for the purpose of friendship and fun by organising events that allow people to meet and interact with like-minded people in an environment that is as relaxed and natural as possible. Our intention has always been to provide members with fun, friendship and adventure in an emotionally safe environment that is free from expectation, pressure and sexual connotations. Besides, we’ve found that the most enduring and genuine relationships—romantic, platonic or otherwise—are typically those that evolve naturally, not those that begin with preconceptions.

Funseekers offers two types of membership.

1. Online membership
Funseekers online service helps registered online members meet like-minded friends and discover new adventures by providing a ‘one-stop’ site that:

• facilitates the meet and greet process through member profiles and online forums,
• allows members to post upcoming events and to personally invite other members to attend,
• allows members to post photos of, and make comments about, past events,
• provides direct links to relevant social, adventure and sporting organisations, and outlines their upcoming events, and
• provides independent reviews of events

In other words, online members can organise their own social events and personally invite other funseekers to attend, or they can accept invites and attend events organised by fellow funseekers.

2. Premium club membership
Funseekers offline multi-activity, adventure and social club membership is only available in cities with local funseekers club franchises. As a funseekers club member you will be provided with a ready-made social life: a monthly calendar packed full of professionally organised, entertaining and affordable social activities from which you can pick and choose. With a diverse and ever-changing program on offer, tailored to meet the varied preferences of our members, there is something to suit everyone. From low-key cultural and creative interests to adrenalin- fuelled, action-packed adventures, all funseekers events and activities are of a consistently high standard and all are run by professional and personable coordinators whose main goal is to ensure that you are safe and that you have fun.

Due to the ‘fun and friendly’ nature of funseekers website we rarely, if ever, attract undesirables (who generally prefer more sexual or dating- oriented sites). However, as we are an online social network we are open to everyone, and though this is rarely abused by ‘weirdos’ it can attract unwanted spam. For this reason, funseekers has very specific controls in place to ensure the best interests of their members are met.

These measures include:

• Ensuring all new members provide specific and verifiable personal details upon registration.
• Keeping private internal records of all members’ personal details.
• A personal ‘blacklist’ option that allows members to block others from contacting them.
• Chat rooms to help new members get to know other funseekers before attending an event, and to provide regular members with a fast, secure and private means of communication.
• Event ‘ratings’ from other funseekers who have participated in a particular rganizer’s past events.
• Exclusive funseeker club events that are organized and hosted by professional event managers.

Furthermore, by joining funseekers you agree to be bound by certain terms and conditions for as long as you continue to be a member. Funseekers provides a format for social networking and interaction and all its members are expected to behave in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner at all times. For this reason, if any member of funseekers is responsible for offensive behaviour or misconduct either online or at a funseekers event, funseekers reserves the right to cancel their membership immediately. Finally, most of funseekers activities and events take place in a public area and are attended by other members so there is always a level of social control. As the old adage goes, ‘there is safety in numbers’.

We at funseekers pride ourselves on providing the broadest range of activities we can possibly conjure up to meet the needs of our wonderfully unique members. Unlike other social and sporting clubs that target a very distinct group (like bushwalking or chess clubs), we focus on providing our members every possible opportunity to have fun.

To help our members choose events and activities that best suit their wants, we offer six subdivisions:

We also offer a simple rating system, mild to wild.

Most of our current members attended their very first event alone. And if the feedback, reviews and comments throughout our website are any indication, they’ve not looked back since. However, if the thought of turning up to an event alone fills you with anxiety here are some simple solutions:

• Funseekers online notification services and chat rooms enable new members to ‘get to know’ event organisers, group leaders and other members before attending an event.
• Independent event reviews allow new members to read personal accounts of past events that have been held by an individual or group.
• Online galleries provide a visual guide of past events and attendees, which allows new members to identify which groups and events appeal to them.
• All group and event posts include profiles of all members that will be attending their upcoming events. This enables new members to search for events that will be attended by like-minded people.

1. Funseekers Online Membership
To become a funseeker, registration is a simple five step process:

1. Click on the Sign Up Today icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
2. Fill out the basic member profile.
3. Nominate a user name and password.
4. Upload a picture or choose a preset avatar.
5. A confirmation email will then be sent to your nominated email address. Click on the funseeker icon and let the fun begin.

2. Funseekers Premium Club Membership
To become a funseekers premium club member, simply click on any funseekers event, fill out your name, email address and phone number in the pop-up window and press send and you will be instantly upgraded. You are then free to pick any and all events that take your fancy, and register for that event. Easy.

To register for an event simply click on the event of interest, then click on the “request to register” in the top left hand corner. Registration will be confirmed by email from the event organizer.

To join a group simply click on the group of interest, then click on the “request to join” in the top left hand corner. Membership will be confirmed by email from the group owner.

The event organizer will notify you if an event is closed or sold out.

You can interact with a member directly through their member profile, you can chat online, you can invite members to join your group or event, and you can add members to your contact list, and exchange emails directly. You can also block members should you need to.

To update your profile, simply click on “My Funseekers- My Profile” and make any desired alterations.

To create an event simply go to "My Funseekers" on the top left of the navigation panel. This is your personal admin area. Go to "My Events" on the left navigation panel. You will see a tab "Start New Event". Click on this and fill in the fields as indicated.

To create a group simply go to "My Funseekers" on the top right of the navigation panel. This is your personal admin area. Go to "My Groups" on the left navigation panel. You will see a tab "Start New Event" on the right of this page. Click on this and fill in the fields as indicated.

To send a message to all your contacts at once simply go to "My Funseekers" on the top right of the navigation panel. This is your personal admin area. Go to "My Contacts" on the left navigation panel. You can then select as many contacts as you like and send your message.

You can either go to straight to a member's profile in "Find Members" and click on the "Block Member" tab within their profile. Or if the member is in your contact list you can go to My Funseekers on the top left of the navigation panel, then go to "My Contacts", select the member/s you would like to block and click the tab "Block Member"

To add a slideshow gallery simply go to "My Funseekers" on the top right of the navigation panel. This is your personal admin area. Go to "My Profile Gallery" on the left navigation panel. You can then Upload New Images, select the order you would like the images to display, delete past images and review the upload. For each profile - member, group and events- there is a maximum upload of 15 images. Once this has been reached you must remove older images in order to upload newer ones.
